The sign is made with bright LED lights that will flash amber when over the set speed limit. This radar speed sign is great in high-risk and dangerous driving areas, school zones and countless other places to increase traffic safety. - What power options are available?
- All of the radar signs can be made in either Solar Powered or AC Powered and some have the option to be Battery operated. However, the standard is Solar Powered.
- What is the difference between Bluetooth Data Collection vs Cloud Data Collection and why should we be using it?
- Both have the ability to collect data through the radar sign, however using Bluetooth requires someone to be on site to download and receive all the data through a Microsoft device connection. Whereas with the Cloud, you can remotely download all data directly to your device. The Cloud is an excellent feature when there are many signs placed around the City that require frequent data analyzation or if the sign is placed in an area that is not easily accessible.
- What data will the sign collect?
- The sign will collect data regarding the average speed, time of day, number of cars, etc. and will also allow you to easily compare the data through the management system.
- What size sign is recommended?
- It is recommended that if the speed limit is 40 MPH or under, an 11" or 12" sign is used. If the sign will be placed in an area where the speed limit is between 40-55 MPH, a 15" sign is recommended and if the sign is placed in a 55 MPH or over zone, an 18" sign is recommended.
- At what speed will the sign detect motion?
- The sign will pick up anything going at 1 MPH and up, however it is recommended that you set the sign to start detecting at 5 MPH, as anything under this will be excessive.
- What is the warranty?
- The radar signs are covered for up to 2 years; however, the battery is covered for up to 1 year.
- Do the radar signs come with stealth mode?
- Yes. Every radar sign that we sell comes with stealth mode. This allows you to still collect data when the sign appears to be turned off.
- Do the signs come with mounting brackets?
- Yes, depending on the sign, they either come with a standard mounting bracket or band brackets to secure the sign to the pole. However, some of the signs can be upgraded to the universal mounting bracket which can be mounted to any pole and allows for easier installation.
- Can I customize the message that populates on the sign?
- Only the following radar signs come with custom messaging:

- Does every sign have a strobe light?
- Yes, every sign comes with a strobe light. The strobe speed can be adjusted within the sign’s settings.

A: These radar speed signs can be made in either solar powered, AC powered, or rechargeable lithium-ion battery powered. However, the standard sign is solar powered.

Q: What kind of pole should I use with this sign?

A: We suggest you use a 4"-5" diameter circular metallic pole, ideally, or a 4"x4" wooden pole. For Telespar posts, or similar square posts, we strongly recommend you use a 2" variety.

Q: What is the difference between Bluetooth Data Collection vs Cloud Data Collection and why should we be using it?

A: Both have the ability to collect data through the radar sign, however using Bluetooth requires someone to be on site to download and receive all the data through a Microsoft device connection. Whereas with the Cloud, you can remotely download all data directly to your device. The Cloud is an excellent feature when there are many signs placed around the city that require frequent data analyzation or if the sign is placed in an area that is not easily accessible.

Q: How far away can the radar speed sign begin detecting a vehicle?

A: The EV11 has a pickup distance of up to 400 feet from the sign.

Q: At what speed will the sign detect motion?

A: The sign will pick up anything going at 1 MPH and up, however it is recommended that you set the sign to start detecting at 5 MPH, as anything under this will be excessive.

Q: If I choose a battery powered option how long will the sign operate on a fully charged battery?

A: The battery power depletion rate will vary by location and situation. Many variables affect the battery use including the number of vehicles passing the sign, the sign’s settings, and the environment (temperature) where the sign is installed. If choosing the Rechargeable Lithium-Ion Battery option, we recommend purchasing an extra battery so that one battery can be operating the sign while the extra battery is being recharged.

A: We suggest you use a 4"-5" diameter circular metallic pole, ideally, or a 4"x4" wooden pole. For Telespar posts, or similar square posts, we strongly recommend you use a 2" variety.

Q: What is the difference between Bluetooth Data Collection vs Cloud Data Collection (and why should we be using it)?

A: Both Bluetooth Data Collection and Cloud Data Collection have the ability to collect data through the radar sign, however using Bluetooth requires someone to be on site to download and receive all the data through a Microsoft device connection. With the Cloud, you can remotely download all data directly to your device. The Cloud is a great feature when you have many signs placed around a city which require frequent data analyzation, or if a sign is placed in an area that is not easily accessible.

Q: What are all the power options available for the EV12 Radar Speed Sign?

A: The radar speed signs we offer can be equipped to be either solar powered, AC powered, or rechargeable lithium-ion battery powered. Our standard sign is solar powered.

Q: What size sign is recommended?

A: For improved speed management it is recommended that if the speed limit is 40 MPH or under, an 11" or 12" sign is used. If the sign will be placed in an area where the speed limit is between 40-55 MPH, a 15" sign is recommended and if the sign is placed in a 55 MPH or over zone, an 18" sign is recommended for better visibility.

Q: Is mounting hardware included?

A: Yes, the sign comes with the Standard Pole Banding Mounting system which includes mounting brackets, and stainless steel banding straps that secure the sign to the pole. You can choose to upgrade the EV12 sign to the Universal Mounting Bracket system, which can be used to mount the sign to any pole or a wall.

Q: Can this radar speed sign be used with a dolly or trailer?

A: Yes, the EV12 sign can be used with the Radar Speed Sign Dolly (SKU: TL-DOLLY) and the Radar Speed Sign Trailer (SKU: TL-TRLR). If you want to use the trailer, you will have to upgrade your EV12 sign’s mounting system to the Universal Mounting Bracket system. The sign dolly comes with a Universal Mounting Bracket.

Q: If I select a battery powered option, how long will the sign run on a fully charged battery?

A: The battery depletion rate varies based on location and other circumstances. Some of the factors that impact the use of the batteries include the sign's settings, the number of vehicles passing by, and the environmental conditions (such as temperature) where the sign is positioned. If opting for the Rechargeable Lithium-Ion Battery alternative, we advise purchasing an additional battery to operate the sign while the other battery is recharging.

Q: How long is the warranty coverage for the EV12 sign?

The SP550 LED Solar Powered Variable Speed Limit Driver Feedback Sign is a traffic safety sign that allows you to display various speed limits based off scheduling or other work zones. The LED’s that are used are highly visible and calls the attention to drivers to readily adjust their speed to whatever the limit is set at. A very popular sign for risky areas such as school zones or construction zones in which times vary as to when the speed limit should be decreased or increased.

SPEED RADAR SIGN FAQ’s

- What power options are available?
- All of the radar signs can be made in either Solar Powered or AC Powered and some have the option to be Battery operated. However, the standard is Solar Powered.
- What is the difference between Bluetooth Data Collection vs Cloud Data Collection and why should we be using it?
- Both have the ability to collect data through the radar sign, however using Bluetooth requires someone to be on site to download and receive all the data through a Microsoft device connection. Whereas with the Cloud, you can remotely download all data directly to your device. The Cloud is an excellent feature when there are many signs placed around the City that require frequent data analyzation or if the sign is placed in an area that is not easily accessible.
- What data will the sign collect?
- The sign will collect data regarding the average speed, time of day, number of cars, etc. and will also allow you to easily compare the data through the management system.
- What size sign is recommended?
- It is recommended that if the speed limit is 40 MPH or under, an 11" or 12" sign is used. If the sign will be placed in an area where the speed limit is between 40-55 MPH, a 15" sign is recommended and if the sign is placed in a 55 MPH or over zone, an 18" sign is recommended.
- At what speed will the sign detect motion?
- The sign will pick up anything going at 1 MPH and up, however it is recommended that you set the sign to start detecting at 5 MPH, as anything under this will be excessive.
- What is the warranty?
- The radar signs are covered for up to 2 years; however, the battery is covered for up to 1 year.
- Do the radar signs come with stealth mode?
- Yes. Every radar sign that we sell comes with stealth mode. This allows you to still collect data when the sign appears to be turned off.
- Do the signs come with mounting brackets?
- Yes, depending on the sign, they either come with a standard mounting bracket or band brackets to secure the sign to the pole. However, some of the signs can be upgraded to the universal mounting bracket which can be mounted to any pole and allows for easier installation.
- Can I customize the message that populates on the sign?
- Only the following radar signs come with custom messaging:

- CRSV600
- CRSV700
- Does every sign have a strobe light?
- Yes, every sign comes with a strobe light. The strobe speed can be adjusted within the sign’s settings.
